Switching from ServiceM8

No job caps. No feature tiers.

ServiceM8 charges by how busy you are and unlocks features as you climb the plans. Teamsmith is one flat plan: every feature, unlimited jobs, $30 per user per month.

Fair's fair

But… their iPhone app is genuinely great

Credit where it's due: ServiceM8 has been at this for over fifteen years, and its iPhone field app is one of the most polished in the industry. And because its plans include unlimited users, a big crew that runs relatively few jobs can come out cheaper on ServiceM8 than on any per-user product, Teamsmith included.

If that's the deal-breaker for you, ServiceM8 might be the right fit. If not, read on.

Reporting

Know which jobs actually made money

ServiceM8 users tell reviewers they outgrow its reports and end up back in Excel. Teamsmith ships a full reports catalogue, plus a custom report builder for the questions we didn't think of.

  • Job profitability, invoice aging, staff utilisation, quote win rates and more
  • Filter by client, team member, job type or period, then drill into the jobs behind the numbers
  • Build and save your own reports from curated job and invoice data sources

Client Portal

Give clients more than a payment link

Property managers and repeat clients don't want a new SMS link every time. They want one place to see every quote, invoice and job, and Teamsmith gives every client exactly that, at no extra cost.

  • Clients view and accept quotes online, and you’re notified the second they do
  • Every invoice payable by card from the portal or straight from the emailed link
  • Automatic quote follow-ups and payment reminders do the chasing for you

Get Paid

Deposits, progress claims and paid-on-the-spot

Bigger jobs need more than a single invoice at the end. Take a deposit when the quote is accepted, claim progress as stages complete, and let clients pay by card, link or QR code.

  • Deposits and progress claims against any accepted quote, with the balance tracked for you
  • Pay-by-link and QR on every invoice, synced to Xero or MYOB when it’s paid
  • Automatic payment reminders on your schedule: polite, branded and relentless
