Switching from Tradify

Everything Plus has, for less than Lite

Tradify holds reporting, purchase orders and bulk invoicing back for its dearest plan. Teamsmith has one plan: every feature, unlimited jobs, $30 per user per month.

Teamsmith vs Tradify, side by side

How the two stack up on the things that matter when you're running jobs, crews and invoices every day.

Pricing

TeamsmithOne plan: $30 per user, per month. Every feature included
TradifyThree tiers around $48–$62 per user (AUD, ex GST), and the good stuff sits in the dearer ones

Reporting

TeamsmithFull reports catalogue plus a custom report builder, included for everyone
TradifyLocked to the top Plus plan, and reviewers still call it basic: “export to Excel” territory

Timesheets & job costing

TeamsmithIncluded: timesheets, rate tracking and job profitability
TradifyRequires the Pro plan or above

Progress invoicing & deposits

TeamsmithDeposits and progress claims against accepted quotes, included, with automatic payment reminders
TradifyProgress invoicing requires Pro; bulk invoicing requires Plus

Client portal

TeamsmithReal client portal: every quote, invoice and job in one place, payable online
TradifyOnline quote acceptance and pay-by-link, but no logged-in portal with history

Work orders & subbies

TeamsmithWork orders built from quote items, emailed to suppliers and subbies as branded PDFs
TradifySubcontractor scheduling and timesheets on Pro; reviewers rate the subbie tools as shallow

Quoting

TeamsmithBranded quotes, online acceptance, versioning and automatic follow-ups
TradifyGenuinely quick quoting with follow-ups, one of Tradify’s strong suits

Accounting sync

TeamsmithTwo-way Xero and MYOB Business sync
TradifyXero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online

Field app

TeamsmithFull-featured web app in any browser, plus a native iPhone app with feature parity
TradifyNative apps on both iOS and Android

Fair's fair

But… Tradify is genuinely easy to live with

Tradify earns its ratings: it's one of the easiest tools in the category to pick up, its quoting is fast, and it has native apps on both iOS and Android. On Android, Teamsmith runs as a full-featured web app rather than a native one. If you're a sole trader who mostly quotes and invoices, Tradify's Lite plan may be all you ever need.

If that's the deal-breaker for you, Tradify might be the right fit. If not, read on.

Reporting

The numbers, without the top-tier tax

On Tradify, reporting is a Plus-plan feature, and reviewers still end up exporting to Excel. Teamsmith ships a full reports catalogue to every user, plus a builder for your own.

  • Job profitability, invoice aging, staff utilisation, billed vs unbilled time and more
  • Filter by client, team member, job type or period, then drill into the jobs behind the numbers
  • Build and save custom reports from curated job and invoice data sources

Timesheets

Track the hours, cost the job

Timesheets aren't an upsell. They're how you find out whether the job made money. Your crew logs time from the field, rates are snapshotted, and profitability rolls up per job.

  • Timesheets from any device, with approval and dismissal workflows for the office
  • Charge-out rates captured at time of entry, so later rate changes never rewrite history
  • Do-and-charge invoices built straight from tracked time, so nothing slips through

Client Portal

A portal, not just a payment link

Repeat clients and property managers want one place to see everything you've done for them. Teamsmith gives every client a portal with quotes, invoices and jobs, included.

  • Clients view and accept quotes online, and you’re notified the second they do
  • Every invoice payable by card from the portal or the emailed link
  • Automatic quote follow-ups and payment reminders do the chasing for you

Outgrowing Tradify?

The complaints Tradify users post most often, and what Teamsmith does about them.

Timesheets and job costing cost extra
Timesheets, rate snapshots and per-job profitability are core features, not upsells.
Clients get links, not a portal
